The process of therapy begins with awareness and self-compassion. Taking time to breathe and become present with ourselves sometimes seems like a luxury in our busy lives. Yet, it is an essential step towards becoming more fully who we are.
Having a protected and dedicated space for connecting with our intuitive wisdom is a gift we give ourselves in the therapy room. The best guide will always be your own intuition. Diving below the thinking, analyzing mind and coming alongside our emotions with compassion will be valuable paths. As C. G. Jung has said, "the most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely." With this knowledge we take with us courage, willingness and compassion; these will be our inner resources for the journey to the self.
And so we begin with the wisdom of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, "smile, breathe and go slowly".
